Argentina’s wholesale price index rose 0.8% in July 2026 compared with the previous month, according to the latest report from the national statistics agency, INDEC. The increase in the domestic wholesale price index (IPIM) was driven by a 0.8% rise in national products and a 0.5% increase in imported products.

Within national products, the largest positive contributions to the IPIM came from agricultural products (0.39 percentage points), chemicals (0.19 points), motor vehicles and parts (0.17 points), and food and beverages (0.16 points). These were partially offset by a negative contribution from crude oil and gas (-0.91 points).

The basic wholesale price index (IPIB), which excludes taxes, also rose 0.8% month-on-month, with national products up 0.9% and imported products up 0.6%. The producer price index (IPP), which measures prices received by local producers, increased 0.9% in July, reflecting a 1.7% rise in manufactured products and electricity, while primary products fell 1.0%.

On an annual basis, the IPIM was up 31.1% in July, the IPIB rose 30.2%, and the IPP increased 31.3%. For the first seven months of 2026, the cumulative increases were 16.6% for the IPIM, 15.5% for the IPIB, and 15.5% for the IPP.
