Lionel Messi back in Inter Miami training after Argentina farewell
Lionel Messi has rejoined Inter Miami first-team training after an emotional Argentina farewell in Buenos Aires, with focus now on the MLS run-in.
According to Goal.com, the 39-year-old has returned to Florida to sharpen his fitness for the closing weeks of the regular season and an anticipated post-season push under head coach Kily Gonzalez.

He signed off in Argentina’s 3-0 win over Benin on Tuesday, converting a penalty and creating two goals in front of home supporters.
Messi tops the MLS charts with 21 goals and 13 assists, his cutting edge reflected by 150 shots on target, well clear of Milan Iloski’s 105 attempts.
Miami are third on 46 points from 27 matches, level with second-placed New England and seeking to trim Nashville’s 14-point advantage. A top-seven finish over the remaining seven fixtures would secure direct entry to the Best-of-3 series, avoiding a wild-card fixture.
D.C. United visit Nu Stadium on Saturday for an Eastern Conference test. After a long-haul return from international duty, scrutiny will fall on Messi’s condition as Miami chase the points needed to keep their play-off seeding on track.
