It was a very dynamic match from the start, with an impressive backdrop provided by both sets of supporters. Midland dictated the way the game was played: speed down the flanks and quick movement through midfield. Iturrería fielded the best side he had available for the most important match in a long time for the Libertad team. Otta opted for mostly players who had not been playing regularly.
