Spain’s post-FIFA World Cup final celebrations were momentarily ruined by Argentina’s Leandro Paredes.
Argentina failed to defend their World Cup title following a no-show performance in the final against Spain as the European nation clinched a 1-0 win.

Evidently, it was a frustrating performance from the Argentines, which led to a moment of fury from Leandro Paredes, who blatantly attacked Spain’s Gavi during the post-match celebrations.

Gavi doesn’t want Leandro Paredes and Argentina players to be suspended
While the heated scuffle was quickly broken up, one would expect a harsh punishment for all the players involved, particularly Paredes, who slammed Gavi to the ground.
However, the young midfielder has no ill feelings towards Paredes and co., as he urged no Argentina players should be suspended for the post-match scuffle.
“I do not think Argentina players should be suspended. I understand that this doesn’t present a good image for the children, but football has always had a more aggressive side,” Gavi said, per Fabrizio Romano on X.

He added, “I see that everything that happened is part of football.”
Being aggressive has always been a part of soccer, but it’s usually contained when teams are on the field during a game.
Paredes smashing Gavi to the ground happened after the game and many Spanish fans are demanding a brutal punishment for the Argentine veteran.
But if Gavi himself doesn’t want a punishment for his opponents, it could lead to a softer punishment from FIFA.
