Argentina President Javier Milei has endorsed Congresswoman María Elvira Salazar (R-Fla.) in her reelection bid for Florida’s 27th Congressional District (FL CD 27).
“María Elvira is one of the continent’s most outspoken and respected voices,” Milei said. “She advocates for freedom, democracy, the free market, and every person’s right to prosper through their own efforts.”
Milei asserted that Congress deserves a leader who understands Latin America, who confronts leftists and socialists at home and abroad, and who denounces the horrors and deaths that socialism has left in its path.
Rep. Salazar Expresses Her Gratitude
Congresswoman Salazar thanked the Argentine leader for his support and for acknowledging “what’s at stake in our hemisphere.”
“That has been my fight from day one in Washington, standing up for the values of the families I represent in Miami and for freedom across the Americas,” Rep. Salazar wrote.
Freedom brings us together. 🇺🇸🇦🇷
I’m honored to have President Javier Milei’s endorsement for my reelection to the United States Congress.
He understands what is at stake in our hemisphere: defending freedom, democracy, free markets, and the right of every person to build a better future through hard work.
That has been my fight from day one in Washington, standing up for the values of the families I represent in Miami and for freedom across the Americas.
Thank you, @JMilei , for your friendship, your words, and your support.
We will keep standing strong for freedom.

Endorsements From Prominent Leaders
Milei’s endorsement follows backing from Colombian President Abelardo de la Espriella and Venezuelan opposition leader and 2025 Nobel Peace Prize winner María Corina Machado.
Could Foreign Endorsements Help Rep. Salazar?
With early voting starting Oct. 19 in Miami-Dade County, the question now is whether Congresswoman Salazar’s foreign backing can help secure her seat against Dade-County backed challenger Eliott Rodriguez (D).
According to Rodriguez’s website, the Democratic challenger is endorsed by a large swath of prominent figures throughout all of Dade-County.
As of Oct. 18, 2026, Rep. Salazar’s chances of winning sit at 68.8%, according to VoteHub.
